Below you will find an "outline" of how a reception planned by Gerry proceeds. In addition, you will find a list of currently scheduled dates for upcoming events.

ORDER OF RECEPTION EVENTS

I arrive 1 & 1/2 hours before the first guest(s) arrive.
I greet the first guests as they arrive with easy, enjoyable music and tell them to help themselves to cocktails, punch and hors d'oeuvres, and that I will be announcing the arrival of the bridal party and introducing the bride and groom and bringing them on the floor for their "Bridal Dance". So until then, relax and enjoy themselves.

Introduce Bridal Party -- As I announce the Bridal Party, they form a semi-circle on the dance floor.

Introduce the Grandparents -- They may walk in or already be seated in the hall and recognized from their table.

Introduce Host & Hostess - Parents of the Bride
Introduce Parents of the Groom
Introduce Bridesmaids (Escorted by Groomsmen)
Introduce Maid or Matron of Honor and Best Man
Introduce Flower Girl & Ring Barer

Bridal Dance - Bride and Groom dance as Bridal Party looks on

Bridal Party Dance, Dance with Dad, Mom - Now or After Food (optional).

Announce Dinner (unless food is already available)

Toast by Best Man and Others - wireless mike provided to go around the room.

Cutting of the Cake

Father & Bride Dance (Daddy's Little Girl, Butterfly Kisses, etc.)
Mother & Groom Dance (if you like, "Song For My Son")

All Dance - Long period with music and fun

Bride Throws Bouquet - Gather all single girls

Groom Removes Garter - Throws to all single men

Garter Goes on Girl Who Caught Bouquet

All Dance until Bride & Groom depart.

This is the order in which I conduct the reception as it works very well. However, I am always open to your ideas and suggestion, and any order that you prefer is fine. Any additions or omissions you may have are also welcomed.
